The New York Yankees are on a big-game hunt after missing out on Juan Soto.
The Yankees have acquired All-Star closer Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers, the team announced Friday.
In exchange for Williams, the Brewers will receive starting pitcher Nestor Cortez and prospect Caleb Durbin.

Williams, 30, is a two-time All-Star and two-time National League Relief Player of the Year named Trevor Hoffman.
Last season, Williams appeared in 22 games and went 1-0 with a 1.25 ERA and 14 saves in 21 1/3 innings pitched after missing the first four months of the season with a stress fracture in his back. I left a mark.
Williams has a 1.83 ERA and 68 saves in 235/3 innings. Williams earned the nickname “The Airbender” because of his wipeout changeup, which allowed him to strike out more than 14 batters per nine innings.
Williams will be the Yankees’ new closer, with Luke Weaver returning to a setup role.
Mets’ Juan Soto says he hasn’t spoken to any of his former Yankees teammates since losing in the World Series
Cortez will immediately be part of the Brewers’ starting rotation. Last season, Cortez had a solid 9-10 record with a 3.77 ERA in 174.1 innings pitched.
Cortez suffered a flexor tear late in the regular season and came out of the bullpen in a limited role during the World Series.
After signing Max Fried to the richest contract given to a left-handed pitcher in MLB history, the Yankees parted ways with Cortez as the team had access to a rich starting pitcher.

Durbin is a prospect for the Brewers who can play anywhere on the diamond, including second base, shortstop, third base and center field.
The 24-year-old batted .269 and stole 110 bases in four minor league seasons. Durbin appeared in 1,216 at-bats in the minor leagues and struck out only 111 times.
It appears the Yankees aren’t done making a move yet, as they are reportedly interested in trading outfielder Kyle Tucker or Cody Bellinger for Soto.
