On Sunday night, “Hacks” and “Shōgun” were big winners at the 2024 Emmy Awards, which recognize best television show.
FX’s “The Bear” kicked off the night with 23. Nominations“Hacks” was the highest-rated comedy series of all time and won Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Comedy Series, but it was HBO’s “Hacks” that won in the comedy series category.
“Shogun” received 25 nominations, the most of any show, and won major awards, including Best Drama. Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai won for Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series. Combined with the Creative Arts Emmy Award, “Shogun” won a total of 18 Emmy Awards in its first season, the most wins for a single season in Emmy Award history.
Sunday night’s gala will mark the second Emmy Awards ceremony to be held in the 2024 calendar year. 75th Primetime Emmy Awards It was due to take place in January this year, but was postponed to 2023 due to the writers’ and actors’ strike.
The ceremony was attended by father-son duo Dan and “Schitt’s Creek” star Eugene LevyIt was broadcast live on ABC from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
