What you need to know
Bucknell enjoyed a four-game homestand, but will have to dust off its road jersey soon. They will play the Maryland Terrapins at Xfinity Center on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Bison are averaging 76.4 points per game this season and are showing off their offensive prowess.
Bucknell entered this matchup after oddsmakers set last week’s lowest over/under value at 141.5, but even that turned out to be too high. They suffered a blow to the losing column at the hands of Rider, 57-53. This matchup was the Bison’s lowest scoring game so far this season.
Meanwhile, Maryland dodged a bullet on Sunday, defeating Villanova 76-75. With this win, the Terrapins have won consecutive games.
Maryland relied on the performance of Derrick Queen, who had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Julian Reese, who had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Reese also grabbed six offensive rebounds, the most since January.

Rebounding will likely be a big factor in this contest. Bucknell has been on a roll this season, averaging 37 rebounds per game. But it’s not like Maryland is struggling in this department, averaging 40.8 points per game. We’ll see if either team can gain the upper hand as both teams fight to recover missed shots.
Bucknell was unable to completely shut down Maryland in their last meeting in November 2017, losing 80-78. Can Bucknell make a comeback or is history destined to repeat itself? We’ll soon find out.
