Duquesne has buoyed its tough season with two straight wins and enters this game as an upset. On Saturday, they cruised past UC Irvine with a point to spare, winning 70-54.
Duquesne’s victory was the result of some impressive offensive performances. Most notable was Jahseen Corbett, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player who made a difference was Tre Dinkins III, who scored 13 points.
Duquesne worked as a team and finished the game with 18 assists. This is the most assists they’ve had since March.
Cleary, on the other hand, had to start the season on the road in November, which was not the start they had hoped for. They suffered a crushing 91-52 loss to Detroit.
Duquesne has been on a roll lately, winning three of its last four games and significantly improving on its 4-8 record this season. As for Cleary, the loss dropped his record to 0-3.
In the last meeting, back in December 2023, everything went well between Duquesne and Cleary, with the teams winning 95-47. Duquesne built a 53-19 halftime lead in this matchup and will look to repeat that feat on Friday.
