Russian forces said Tuesday’s air prevention shot down 337 Ukrainian drones overnight in 10 regions of Russia, which are believed to be the largest Ukrainian drone attack in three years.

The Ukrainian air force has fired 79 of the 126 ballistic Iskander M missiles and 126 drones that Russia launched in an overnight attack, Reuters reported. According to the Air Force, many 35 drones did not reach their target, perhaps as a result of electronic warfare countermeasures. I’m not writing about what happened to the other 12 drones.
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobianin said more than 70 drones targeted the Russian capital and were shot down as they flew towards it.
“The Ministry of Defense’s air defense continues to repel large-scale attacks by enemy drones in Moscow,” Sobinan told Telegram early on Tuesday.
Reuters reported that commuters went out to work as usual in central Moscow, with no signs of panic, adding that Moscow is one of Europe’s largest metropolitan areas and that the population includes the surrounding area is at least 21 million.
Andrei Volobyov, governor of the Moscow region surrounding the capital, said one person was killed and nine others were injured as a result of the attack.
Governor Igor Artamonov said another person was injured on a highway in the Lipetsk area.
Sobianin said the roof of the Moscow building was also damaged, saying it was “insignificant.” Video of the building, published by Ria Novosti, showed burnt locations on the facade of a multi-storey residential building near the roof, with the building’s lining peeling off.
Flights were restricted inside and outside the six airports, including Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Shremetyevo and Zukovsky, just outside the airports in the Moscow and Yarosrahl and Nizhny Novgorod region. Sheremetievo Airport has since resumed flights, with Reuters saying it is saying Air Watch Dog Rosaviatia.
Trains passing through Domodovo Station in the Moscow region have also been temporarily suspended, local officials reported.
The local government also reported drones in Tula and Vladimir regions, adjacent to the Moscow region. It was not immediately clear why these regions were not mentioned in the Ministry of Defense statement.
