President Donald Trump’s approval rating is to immerse him as he is approaching 100 days and Americans grow skeptical of his sweeping actions to transform the government, new polls show.
A trio of polls on Sunday shows that the majority of Americans have disapproved of Trump’s handling of the presidency. His approval rating, which is between 39% and 45% in three surveys, is the lowest for a newly elected president with a 100-day mark in over 70 years per CNN.
A Washington Post ABC News Imps poll found 39% of US adults approved Trump’s presidency handling. A CNN/SSRS poll found that 41% of Americans approved it. And NBC News confirmed that 45% of US adults have approved it.
The latest approval rating has been a tough change since Trump returned to the White House in January, rising to his positive rating.
Trump has also lost confidence in his ability to handle the economy among voters. This is the issue that he is at the heart of his 2024 White House bid and is consistently the best issue for voters. His sweeping tariffs injected volatility into financial markets.
According to a CNN/SSRS poll, 52% of US adults have shown confidence in Trump’s ability to handle the economy, according to a CNN/SSRS poll, which has fallen 13 points from December.
A Washington Post ABC News IPSOS poll shows that nearly three-quarters of Americans believe Trump’s economic policies could cause economic recession in the short term.
An NBC News poll found that the majority of Americans disapproved of Trump’s trade and tariff handling (61%) and inflation and cost of living (60%).
Voters are also losing confidence in Trump’s ability to deal with immigration, another notable political issue he focused on in his White House run. CNN found that 45% of Americans approved Trump’s ability to handle immigrants, starting from 60% in December.
Trump’s approval rating has dropped sharply along partisan boundaries, with the majority of Republicans approving Trump’s presidency, and the majority of Democrats disapproving it.
Among the independents, Voting Block Trump lost just a small loss in November, disapproving Trump’s presidency 58%, according to the Washington Post.
