President Donald Trump rescinded the nomination of Rep. Elise Stefanik as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday.
Trump cited the razor-like majority Republicans holding it in the House of Representatives for his decision to pull Rn.Y. Stephanik from a UN Post Office Senate review.
“I was just informed a few minutes ago,” Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Riche told reporters, “I was informed of it a few minutes ago,” according to Trump’s decision.
“It’s essential to maintain all Republican seats in Congress as we move forward with America’s first agenda,” Trump wrote in a social media post.
“We must be united to achieve our mission. Elise Stefanik has been an important part of our efforts from the beginning,” Trump wrote in the Truth Social Post.
“As one of my biggest allies, I asked Elise to stay in Congress to document historic tax cuts, great work, economic growth and provide many of the safe border control, power, and power.
Trump did not announce who he would nominate as the UN ambassador slot.
However, he wrote, “There are others who can do good work at the United Nations.”
“Therefore, Elise will remain in Congress, rejoin the House leadership team and continue to fight for our incredible Americans.”
