Trump Media And its fellow conservative social media company Rumble sued a Brazilian Supreme Court judge on Wednesday. Last year, the clash with Elon Musk led to blocking Musk’s own social media company X in the country.
The lawsuit in Tampa, Florida, federal courtroom claims that Judge Alexandre de Moraise attempts to censor “well-known, politically outspoken users” with an order to suspend users’ US-based accounts. It denies attempts.
The new litigation states that the truth about Trump Media’s social media sites “relies on Rumble’s cloud-based hosting and video streaming infrastructure to provide multimedia content to its user base.”
“If Rumble is shut down, that shutdown will inevitably hinder the true social tactic,” Suit said.
“Rumble and (Trump Media) are jointly seeking a ruling that declares an order in the US that Judge Moraes’ gags cannot be enforced,” the lawsuit says. “Allowing Judge Moraes to fire vocal users at American digital outlets will put our country’s bedrock commitment to open and robust debate, as well as foreign judicial obligations , the excessive judiciary from overseas cannot negate the freedoms protected by the US Constitution and laws.”
The lawsuit comes a day after Brazilian prosecutors indicted former country president Jäa Bolsonaro in an attempt to coup as he tried to take office after the 2022 election loss.
Bolsonaro, who was invited to President Donald Trump’s inauguration last month, is said to have planned to poison current Brazilian presidents, Louis Inacio Lula da Silva and Kill Moraise. .

Trump owned most of Trump Media’s stock shares. In December, the then presidential election shifted all his shares into revocable trust, and its sole beneficiary.
The company’s lawsuit bans mask user accounts and when the judiciary halted Brazil’s X due to the removal of masks, which bans mask user accounts and removes content that Moraes said was in violation of national laws, he said it was in violation of the country’s laws. It refers to the mask feud.
As part of the fight, Brazil’s Supreme Court has also suspended the country’s bank accounts of X and Starlink, the satellite internet service providers owned by Musk’s company SpaceX.
Musk, who is also Tesla’s CEO, is entrusted by Trump to oversee federal suspensions and widespread efforts to cut employee workforce.
Trump’s media CEO Devin Nunes said in a statement in the lawsuit on Wednesday that the company is “sturdy about supporting the ‘right to freedom of expression’.”
“This isn’t just a slogan, it’s the core mission of this company,” Nunes said. “We are proud to be part of our partner Rumble against unfair demands for political censorship, regardless of who makes them.”
Last week, Trump Media reported a net loss of about $401 million and revenue of just $3.6 million in 2024.
In a statement last week, the company said that roughly half of the $61 million cash used in its 2024 operating activities “includes litigation costs, including costs related to the merger with the special purpose acquisition company in March 2024.” I stated.
“In part, as a result of the Biden-era Securities and Exchange Commission obstruction, transforming this process into one of the longest SPAC mergers in history (Trump Media) has seen considerable legal costs associated with the merger. “We are owing to the lawsuit and seeking a lawsuit. That damages,” Suit said.
