Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz discusses how Democrats are claiming the insider trading case amid President Donald Trump’s tariff suspension on “revenues.”
President Donald Trump has no existing plans to talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the ongoing trade war, a White House top official said on Sunday.
US trade representative Jamieson Greer issued a statement on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday.
“What kind of channels is the Trump administration opening in Beijing now? Are there any plans for President Trump and XI to talk about?” asked CBS host Margaret Brennan.
“Now we have no plans for that,” replied Greer. “This issue is really at the leader level. By April 2nd, I had a conversation with my counterparts. Since April 2nd, we have had this at the leader level.

Brennan went on to ask if the White House was trying to force it to sell some of its roughly $1.5 trillion assets held in Greer, USA, to China.
“President Trump has a global program that seeks to reissue American manufacturing and address the trade deficit. That’s a global issue,” Greer said.
“The only reason we are in this position now is that China chooses to retaliate. Many other countries have declared they do not want retaliation. They want to negotiate with the Americans, and the Chinese have made another decision.

Greer’s comments come one day before XI will set out on Monday on a five-day tour to strengthen its trade ties with its Southeast Asian partners.
China will increase US import duties from 84% to 125%
XI will be visiting Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia. Both Vietnam and Malaysia have major trade ties with the US and China.
