An air traveler went to Reddit to detail her encounters with fellow passengers who had broken into her personal space, and titled the post “Don’t do this.”
“I woke up to the man next to me, I placed my right foot under my seat and spread my right foot over my seat. He asked me to move. He said, ‘You have plenty of space, and you’re shorter than me.’
She responds to the man and says that his bag was under his own seat and that he had given the excuse that he “no room.”

The woman wrote that she was a “5’9 woman with long legs” and asked, “Why do people qualify so much on planes?”
“I’ve never posted on reddit, but this wasn’t too infuriated,” she concluded.

“I’m 6’3″ and when I reach the altitude, I pull my bag out from under the seat in front of me and store it where my legs were. Then I stretch my legs under the seat in front of me. Simple beans,” another user wrote.
“To occupy your space as quickly as possible and establish how the flight will proceed,” one suggested.

Many users discussed the fact that Reddit users are female and space intruders are male.

“I would have swapped your seats and had a big competition with the guys,” joked another.
Jacqueline Whitmore, a longtime Florida-based etiquette expert, told Fox News Digital that proper airline behavior means “keeping your arms and legs.”

“The seat can be smaller each day, but that doesn’t give you the right to spill into someone else’s space or put your head on someone else’s shoulder, unless you know that person well,” Whitmore said.
