New Mexico officials are expected to provide an update on Friday investigation The death of an actor Jean Hackman and his wife Betsia cute. Investigators said the cause of death of the couple, who were found to be dead in a home outside Santa Fe, has yet to be determined.
The couple was found by caretakers Wednesday afternoon, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office. One of their dogs was also found dead.
The sheriff’s office said there were no obvious signs of a foul play, but Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told reporters Thursday that he hadn’t ruled out it.
“We put everything on the table,” Mendoza said.
Investigators said in an affidavit in the search warrant for the case that the circumstances surrounding the death to demand an investigation were “sufficiently suspicious in nature.”

The initial findings from the autopsy did not reveal any signs of external trauma on either body, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“There were no signs of a struggle,” Mendoza told reporters. “There were no signs of anything missing or disturbed in the house. That would indicate that there was a crime that occurred. It was not.”
Carbon monoxide Hackman and Arakawa’s bodies were required to receive a toxicology test. The Santa Fe Fire Department was unable to spot any signs of carbon monoxide leaks or poisoning following the harsh discovery, according to the search warrant affidavit.
Mendoza told reporters that the couple appears to have been dead for a while.
The couple’s bodies were found when the custodian came to the property for some maintenance work, according to the sheriff’s office. When no one answered at home, the caretaker contacted the local security and conducted welfare checks at home. The guards were called 911 after seeing the bodies of Hackman and Arakawa from the window on the floor.
“They’re not moving. Just send someone here really quickly,” the 911 caller told the dispatcher, according to the voice recording of the call.
The couple’s bodies were found in various parts of the house, according to the sheriff’s office. A dead dog was found in the bathroom closet near Arakawa’s body, according to the search warrant affidavit.
The pills were also found at the countertop near Arakawa’s body in the bathroom, with pills scattered across the counter, according to the affidavit. Authorities adopted two types of medication for blood pressure and thyroid problems, and from the facility from Tylenol, according to stocks filed in Santa Fe courts.
Authorities also adopted health records, two mobile phones and a monthly planner, according to stock.
