The 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class could include another big name.
Quinn Ewers said he considered leaving Texas after the 2023 season, but wanted more experience.
When ESPN’s Pete Thamel asked Ewers in an interview aired before the Cotton Bowl if he planned on “playing college football next year,” Ewers replied, “No, I don’t think so.”

However, Ewers has not officially declared for the draft. In fact, recent reports claim that Ewers has received offers of NIL 6 million from other schools to play there in 2025.
Ewers’ Texas Longhorns will face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl Classic, and the winner will face Notre Dame in the national championship on January 20th.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Ewers hasn’t had the season he expected. Despite playing in one more game this season, he lost nearly 300 passing yards and added five interceptions. He has thrown 29 touchdowns, compared to 22 last season.

Ewers was sidelined for a while due to injury, but Arch Manning came on in a big way. Manning is seeing more action even with Ewers active, but primarily as a runner.
The Cotton Bowl Classic will be Ewers’ 37th college game. But Manning’s commitment to Texas and emergence this year has some thinking head coach Steve Sarkisian has left a long leash on the junior quarterback.
Nevertheless, Ewers is the player to lead the way to what could be the school’s first title since 2006.
