At least five Tesla vehicles in Las Vegas were damaged in a “target attack” early Tuesday, with two vehicles completely engulfed in flames and other vehicles shot with gunfire, authorities said.
At about 2:45am local time, officials from the Metropolitan Police Station in Las Vegas responded to multiple reports of Tesla vehicles on fire at Tesla’s crash center. Police found at least five Tesla vehicles, including two engulfed in flames, were damaged, and the word “resistance” was included in a spray of capital letters painted in red on the central door.
The suspect also fired at least three rounds into the vehicle, and police say he believed he used Molotov cocktails for the fire.
Investigators said they were still searching for the suspect and that the individual was approaching the Tesla facility wearing black clothes. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating it with Las Vegas police.

On Monday, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported multiple Tesla vehicles with Swastika spray paint. No arrests have been made in that case.
Musk responded to the Las Vegas incident on his X platform, calling it an act of “terrorism.”
“This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong,” Musk wrote in a social media post. “Tesla was just building electric cars and did nothing worthy of these evil attacks.”
Attorney General Pam Bondy on Tuesday called the violence against Tesla “nothing elsewhere as domestic terrorism.”
“The Justice Department has already kept that in mind for multiple perpetrators, including cases involving five years of mandatory minimum sentence charges,” Bondy said in a statement. “We will continue our investigation into those involved in these attacks that have serious consequences. These attacks will include people who are operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”
Trump told reporters last week that he would label violence against the Tesla facility as “domestic terrorism.”
