Jeff Probst returned 24 years later as the “survivor” face. Season 48.
“I remember how excited I was,” Probst said of the early days of the show. “We didn’t know it was going to be a hit, but we knew it was unique.”
The 2000 premiere, “Survivor“I have been running and at the helm of Probst, and he believes that the longevity of the show stems from its authenticity.
“They’ll tell you if they don’t like it, but they haven’t abandoned you. You can actually try to evolve the show.
Probst, executive producer of the show, says “survivors” are like a study of human behavior where competitors have to navigate complex social dynamics while relying entirely on one another. I did.
“It’s not really scripted. There’s no one hint or suggestion on anything,” explained Probst. “You actually live in the jungle, so the survivors are different from other shows. The camera doesn’t go away, they give you a toothbrush or a burger.”
The upcoming season will have 18 new contestants, including Autistic Eva, and 18 new contestants, including Joe, the father of a firefighter.
“They are forced to rely on each other, but at some point they have to turn on each other. It’s a complicated adventure.”
Looking forward to the show’s 50th milestone season, Probst revealed plans for a theme called “In The Hands of the Fans.”
“We’re literally handing over the creation of our shows to our fans,” he said. “So we’re not in charge. They’ll do that. That’s a scary idea. But it’s exciting.”
The two-hour premiere of “Survivor” season 48 aired on CBS on Wednesday, followed by a 90-minute episode throughout the season.
