The World Robotics 2024 annual survey found that just over 10% of South Korea’s workforce has been replaced by robots.
The report, released by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), found that robotics continues to trend upwards globally.
South Korea is leading the way in the transition to a robotic workforce, with the Asian country having 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees.
According to IFR research, the use of robots in the country has increased by 5% every year since 2018.

How does it compare to the US?
The organization said Singapore came in second with 770 robots per 10,000 employees.
With 470 robots per 10,000 employees, China has overtaken Germany and Japan and moved into third place behind Singapore.

Germany came in fourth place with 429 robots per 10,000 employees, followed by Japan with 419 robots per 10,000 employees.
The United States ranked 10th with 295 robots per 10,000 employees.
Robot density by region
According to IFR research, robot density in the European Union is 219 robots per 10,000 employees, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year.
Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Slovenia led the increase in robot adoption, placing these countries in the top 10 worldwide.
According to the IFR study, robot density in North America was 197 robots per 10,000 employees, an increase of 4.2%.
According to IFR research, robot density in Asia is 182 robots per 10,000 people employed in manufacturing, an increase of 7.6%.

South Korea, Singapore, China and Japan are in the top 10 most automated countries.
