The celebration wasn’t over yet for patriotic passengers departing the nation’s capital after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
On Tuesday, a passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight departing from Ronald Reagan International Airport in Arlington, Virginia, bound for Nashville, Tennessee, started singing.
Matt Oakley of Nashville, Tennessee, posted a clip of the moment on TikTok. The footage shows a man standing in front of the plane belting out Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.”

Oakley, a performer himself, said he performed at two inaugural balls during his stay.
“The man who stood in front of the plane was a veteran who served this country,” Oakley told Fox News Digital.
“He had the whole plane at attention and there were a lot of people singing along,” he added.
The veteran seen in the video was wearing a flannel shirt and a red “Make America Great Again” hat.

“It’s a world where things seem divided for everyone, but in that moment it didn’t feel divided,” Oakley said. (Matt Oakley)
Mr Oakley said it was difficult to know how many people took part in the celebratory song.
