New York City universities were slapped in a federal civil rights lawsuit claiming that the new school Parsons School of Design “permitting an environment of anti-Semitic hostility” in the wake of the October 7 massacre.
The lawsuit was filed by Dillon Law Group on behalf of recent Parsons alumnus Brandon White.
The lawsuit alleges that “the university failed to protect him from a long-term campaign of harassment supported by attacks, slander and the false beliefs of protesters that he is Jewish.” The school has been accused of not stopping students for justice in the Palestinian (SJP) group (faculty and other activists) of the Palestinian (SJP) group on campus for harassing Jewish or Israeli students or those who appear to belong to either group.

White is neither Jewish nor Israeli, but he claims he was subjected to provocation and harassment of anti-Israel activists. According to the lawsuit, on December 4, 2023, activists stopped White from entering the university’s class center, screaming at him, pushing him, knocking on the door in his hand, and threatening him.
“If you push you out of the only entrance because someone is blocking you from going to class and assumes you believe, the university just shrugs. It’s clear that something is broken,” White said. “The lawsuit is to stand up to such hatred and hold the school accountable.”

The former Columbia University president reportedly reportedly reportedly reported by the government for anti-Semitism on campus.
Protesters have allegedly launched a “Smear Campaign” against White Online using his photos, and made the false claims he was “violent bias.” Despite reporting the incident, the school began a disciplinary investigation into him. Ultimately, the university did not take action against those allegedly harassing white people, and his complaints were dismissed.
Standwithus Legal has worked with White during the university’s investigation and is currently serving as a legal consultant for his case against the new school.
“The Kangaroo court process has not only made Brandon White fail. Jewish students and those who are perceived to be Jews sent a message that they are not safe or supported on campus.”
The new school sent a statement on the lawsuit to Fox News Digital, saying it was their policy not to comment on the pending lawsuit.
“The new school is a place for shared learning, mutual respect, and open and robust discussion by students, faculty and staff. As a community, we can maintain a safe, civic and respectful campus environment for all members of our community.”

Matthew Sarelson, a partner at Dhillon Law Group, says the lawsuit is more than a protest.
“This is about universities that have deemed students and staff as ‘Zionists’ and allowed them to use physical force and public smear campaigns against perceived people. He then punished the victim on behalf of the perpetrator. What happened to Brandon was a shame,” Sarrelson said. “Brandon White’s experience is not an isolated case, but a symptom of a broken system in which anti-Semitism can even be tolerated and rewarded.”
