Anglo American Platinum announces dividends and Demerger plans
Anglo American Platinum said Monday it will pay additional cash dividends before Demerger, which thinks it will become an independent company.
The additional dividends reach 59 South African rands ($3.21) per share, with payments totaling R15.7 billion. This amounts to R800 million in addition to shareholder payments in 2024.
If approved by shareholders at Anglo-American’s annual meeting in April, Anglo-American Platinum will be spun into standalone units in June. The company said on Monday it has a major list of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and a secondary list in London.
Anglo-American intends to maintain a 19.9% ​​share in Anglo-American Platinum, Anglo-American CEO Duncan Wan Blood said in a news release Monday.
