Away Holiday, a UK-based travel agency, has found a 57% increase in spiritual travel searches over the past three months.

The agency ranked major cities based on trends in attractions, parks, spas, yoga studios and wellness search.

Tokyo and Japan came in first place considering 3,867 spiritual charms, including iconic locations such as the Meiji Temple and Sensoji Temple.
The city also has 644 parks and 1,200 spas, according to Away Holiday.
“Tokyo is a bustling metropolitan city that seamlessly blends modernity and tradition, and Tokyo offers ample opportunities for relaxation,” the agency said in a press release.

According to estimates by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, approximately 330 million people travel each year for religious/spiritual reasons.
