Sharkninja recalls 1.8 million pressure cookers with 106 reports of burns that caused more than two dozen lawsuits against the company, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The statement said about 50 reports cited second or third-degree burns on the face or body of a consumer. According to Johns Hopkins’ medicine, the most serious burn level, three-degree burns, can destroy the epidermis and dermis, or the outer and middle layers of the skin, and can damage a person’s bones, muscles and tendons.
According to the recall notification, the pressure cooker can be opened while in use, causing hot content to escape, pose a risk of burns to consumers.
Which pressure cookers are being recalled?
The recall covers the Sharkninja Foodi Op300 series multi-functional pressure cooker. The company recalls 1.85 million devices in the US and roughly 184,000 people sold in Canada.
The cooker that can also be fryed is sold in black and has a capacity of 6.5 quarters.

The model number is printed on a label on the side of the cooker.
The recall also includes a replacement pressure cooker lid from the OP300 series purchased as an additional part, the statement said.
Where was Sharkninja devices sold?
The device, created by Needham of Massachusetts-based Sharkninja, has been sold at Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon and Target stores in the United States.
Pressure Cookers were also available online at www.ninjakitchen.com, www.walmart.com, www.costco.com, www.samsclub.com, www.amazon.com and www.target.com.
The device was sold from January 2019 to March 2025 and cost around $200.
What should consumers do?
According to CPSC, anyone who owns the devices should immediately stop using them and contact Sharkninja with a free replacement lid.
“Consumers will continue to use the product’s airfly and other features,” the recall notification added.
