Shaquil O’Neal, son of Basketball Hall of Fame Shaquil O’Neal, has made a big decision about his future in basketball.
ON3 reports that Shaqir leaves Florida A&M and is on the NCAA transfer portal.
The junior forward averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season with Rutler.

If he transferred, O’Neill ended his career at Tallahassee and began 17 of his 29 games.

This is not the first time O’Neill has switched schools in his college basketball career. He transferred to Florida A&M after two years of stints in South Texas.

O’Neal appeared in two games in 41 games during his time with the Tigers. According to Bio, the Florida A&M track and field website, he was listed as a three-star high school recruit.
Basketball is deep in the O’Neill family.

Shaq has won four NBA championships and was a 15 All-Star in his storied career. His other son, Shaereef, played for UCLA and LSU before his stint in the NBA G League.

In 2023, Shaq’s youngest child, Me’arah O’Neal, signed her national intent to play for the Florida Gators. She made her debut for Florida in the 2024-25 season, scoring a career-high 19 points in a game against Arkansas in February.
