The Sex Pistols, the legendary English punk band that helped the genre’s underground subculture reach mainstream heights, are making their first North American tour in over 20 years.
The Pistols finally took part in a North American tour in 2003 when the original vocalist joined them John Lyndon (formerly rotten).
Repetition of 2025 pistol – Former guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock are joined by frontman Frank Carter (of Gallows, Pure Love, Frank Carter and Rattlesnake). When they first toured the US in 1978, it was a particularly hostile show location for the band.
Jones told the Associated Press that he recalls having “pig hooves and bottles and not on us by the Cowboys.”
This is one of several dates featured on the three “Live in the USA” albums, documenting the band’s ’78 Run: Atlanta, Dallas and San Francisco. The latter will be released on April 25th and will capture the show the band originally stopped doing it.
“We were thinking about breaking up in San Francisco again,” joked Jones.

The 2025 tour is currently scheduled to close on October 16th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The band attacks Washington. Philadelphia; Brooklyn, New York. Montreal; Toronto; Cleveland; Detroit; Minneapolis; Denver; Seattle and San Francisco. Additional tour dates will be announced later.
Pre-Sale will open on April 2nd and 3rd. Tickets will be on sale on April 4th at 10am local time.
They perform the band’s only album, “Never Mind the Bollocks, this is the Sex Pistols Album” from 1977.
So why are you going to tour America and Canada now?
“Why not?” Jones said.
“I think everyone needs this band right now. I think the world needs this band right now,” Carter said. “And I definitely think America is screaming for bands like sex pistols.”
“At the end of the day, we live in a really, really difficult time. So we don’t just want people to come and entertain, we also want to enjoy ourselves,” he continued. “Punk is energetic music. It’s something you can go and ventilate and hopefully drop your hair in a safe way. Fingers crossed, bottles and pigs “no hooves.”
Carter led the Sex Pistols last year for several UK dates. The band said they didn’t reach out to Lidon to see if he wanted to join this reunion tour.
“The last thing he wants to do is to have something to do with us now,” Jones said. Their TV series, “Pistol.” The judge opposed Lidon’s opposition.
“We hope he’s the best,” Jones said.
“Good luck with him,” Matlock added. “We probably wish we could think of ‘lucky’ to us. Probably not. But for many years, John had all his phone numbers.
For the 2025 tour, fans should not expect violence in the 1978 run, but performance should be expected to be even more severe.
“We’re a little older, but if not good, we play as well,” Matlock said. “And I think that’s something that we have a lot of aprems that we bring to the masses over there.”
Does this mean that there may be new sex pistol music in the future? “That was early on,” Jones said. “Let’s see what happens.”
The band is currently on a world tour that will take them to Japan later this month before stopping in New Zealand, Australia and across Europe.
