The games against Boise State and Utah State were scheduled to be home matches for the Spartans. Well, since they weren’t played, OutKick reports that SJSU asked two of those opponents for money, saying they lost revenue.
OutKick says San Jose State has confirmed it requested $1,250 from both Boise State and Utah.
An email from San Jose State athletic director Jeff Conya to Boise State advertising director Jeremiah Dickett said, “Your arbitrary decision not to play a qualified NCAA team has harmed SJSU’s finances and our school’s brand.” We estimate that game day revenue from not playing a game on Saturday will be lost to all of the various revenue sources (i.e. concessions, parking, etc.). All together, I’m asking for at least $1,250. ”
Nevada ad says it apologizes for allegedly pushing female volleyball player over transgender player
Boise State acknowledged that it did not pay SJSU for Outkick, but did not say why. Utah did not respond.
San Jose State University athlete Brooke Slusser has joined a lawsuit led by Outkick organizer and former college swimmer Riley Gaines against the NCAA over its gender identity policies. Slusser said he had to share the court, locker room and even a room on overnight trips with teammate Blair Fleming without ever being informed that Fleming was biologically male. That’s why I joined this lawsuit.
Safety concerns and threats against San Jose State players make traveling to games a risky move for the Women’s Spartans. San Jose State previously said that when Southern Utah announced it would not play the Spartans in September, police protection was assigned to the team immediately after receiving initial word of the opponent’s loss. He confirmed this to Fox News Digital.
