Derek Carr’s performance in Sunday’s New Orleans Saints win over the Dallas Cowboys was the least surprising thing about the game.
Sure, Carr had 243 yards passing, two touchdown passes and one rushing score as the Saints won the game, 44-19, but it was his dance moves that really got fans talking.

Carr scored from the goal line with 39 seconds left in the first half and then performed a Michael Jackson dance in the end zone, capping off a big win for New Orleans, helping them start the season 2-0.
On Tuesday, the veteran quarterback spoke about the move.

“People don’t know that much about me. I dance all the time, weddings, birthdays,” Kerr told ESPN. “One time I did the Michael Jackson dance, and (my brothers) were like, ‘Bro, you’ve got to do that when you score.'”
Carr is off to a hot start in his second year as the Saints’ quarterback. He leads the NFL with five touchdown passes and has passed for 443 yards in his first two games, as New Orleans beat the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
In 2023, he passed for 3,878 yards and 25 touchdowns, an improvement over the 15 games he played with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he seemed to come into his own in Klint Kubiak’s offense, who replaced Pete Carmichael as offensive coordinator. This will be Carr’s fourth offensive coordinator in four years.
