You go down the rabbit hole and now the post of gardening (or hot rod or politics) is everything you see online. The algorithm is smart, but I don’t know I’m ready to go back to regular scheduled programming.

Now on YouTube
Let’s say your family is with you for a holiday and your nie is watching manga all day long on your YouTube account. This is recommended by YouTube. Delete your search history and return it to normal.
Fix: Tap to grow history on the YouTube app. COG Icon > Settings > Manage All History. At the bottom, a blue down arrow shows the delete. Tap from the drop-down menu to delete a video from today, and delete custom ranges, or all time. If necessary, click X to delete the items individually.

Tiktok tracks your habits
Tiktok’s algorithm is built to keep the app up. Every time you like, follow or comment something, it tells you the algorithm you are interested in the video and tells you more videos like it pops up on your page for you . Incidentally, it’s not a problem to dislike videos and write annoying comments. You were still watching.

Most apps have this option
On almost every social platform, you can’t hide or see certain things. The more you perform this action, the more you pilot the algorithm.
Fix: Look for a 3-dot or 3-line menu that opens more options, then posts, videos, etc. For example, on YouTube, I don’t recommend a channel or not interested by tapping on the three dots next to a video.

Final advice
Your social media feed is carefully curated based on who you follow, who you follow, and most importantly, what you do online. Certainly you can reset the algorithm, but don’t be fooled. All posts that last, like so, comments, or share, are tracked and used to shape what you see. Just scrolling will tell the platform what will catch your attention.
