President Arif Alvi Agreed on Congregational Prayers, Taraweeh and Aetikaf in Ramazan 

President Arif Alvi has urged mosques to follow discipline while organizing events during the month of Ramadan.“We will ask for forgiveness during this holy month,” President Alvi said while presiding over a meeting with religious scholars on Saturday.

We have sought proposals from the provincial governments to incorporate their point of view while deciding in this regard,” the president said.

President Arif Alvi in Islamabad has agreed to conditionally allow prayer congregations and Taraweeh during the holy month of Ramadan.

The twenty-point strategy based on precautionary measures was formulated in consensus with the religious scholars and the provincial governments including Azad Kashmir to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Hajj will be decided at the mid of Ramzan

President said it has been decided that no carpets will be laid in the mosques and Imam Bargahs and that the prayers will be offered on the floor with a distance of six feet between the people.

The people are also required to make ablution at home and wash hands for twenty seconds with soap before leaving for the mosque with masks on their faces.

They are also required to observe social distancing and refrain from any sort of gathering after the prayers.

There will be no gatherings for Iftar and Sehr in mosques during Ramadan.

It was decided the floor of the mosques will be washed with chlorine added water.

  • If people want to bring prayer mats from home they may do so.
  • No gatherings after namaaz/Taraweeh.

  • Masjid, the committee should be washed the floors with chlorinated water regularly.
  • There should be a six feet distance during congregational prayers.
  • The mosque should form committees to ensure that people are abiding by the rules and decided SOPs.
  • Every person should be use marks in the mosque
  • If a mosque has an open area/garden it is preferable to conduct prayers
  • A person who has 50 years and children should not be allowed.
  • Do not prepare or hold Sehri and Iftaar in mosques.
  • Mosque committees should be in constant contact with the provincial government.
  • Mosques committees are allowed to conduct Taraweeh under these SOPs.
  • Every person should be use marks in the mosque
  • If a mosque has an open area/garden it is preferable to conduct prayers
  • A person who has 50 years and children should not be allowed.
  • Do not prepare or hold Sehri and Iftaar in mosques
  • If during Ramazan, government authorities feel that the situation has slipped out of hands and the number of cases surge, the authorities can amend the decisions taken. check more
