A Florida artist creates art that pays homage to Old Glory and captures the spirit of America while embracing the Palm Beach community.
While painting in her studio, Camilla Webster told Fox News Digital that she creates the distinctive American flag to “reflect a moment in time.”
“Every year I draw multiple American flags to represent how I feel about this country that year,” Webster said.

“I remember after 9/11, everyone hung flags outside their doors. I wanted to go back to those days when we all had a shared destiny.”

As a daughter of the American Revolution, Webster says she was inspired by her family’s history and wanted to share America’s story through art and honor every detail.
“All American flag paintings are done with acrylic paint on canvas, which was developed in the United States. Acrylic paint was very important to the history of American art because it was ours. Europe had oil paints.”
This year’s flag painting was created in collaboration with an Andy Warhol photograph taken by Karen Bustedt in the offices of Interview magazine in 1982.

“Warhol America” was featured at Art Basel in Miami, Florida, drawing thousands of visitors.

“You can see here Andy holding the Stars and Stripes, which is a very meta representation of my American flag. … It’s important for us to remember that we are all Americans “It was very important. Our flag is one of the great things that represents our spirit.” Webster.
In 2023, Art Basel brought together 277 international galleries and over 79,000 visitors.
“I think people are really excited to see a modern experience through the lens of Warholian Americana. It’s been very well received.”

Webster said tourism, especially the arts scene, has exploded in the Palm Beach community in recent years.

More than 34 million tourists visited Florida from July 1 to September 30, according to Visit Florida, the state’s official tourism marketing company.
“It’s really incredible to see what’s been happening since the Norton Museum of Art opened across the street from my studio here. We have a great design house. … We have a great collector… And of course there are supporters from the art world.” ”
The Florida visit highlighted the significant growth of Palm Beach International Airport.

Webster has a collection at the luxury Breakers Resort and works with the Palm Beach Historical Society.
“I feel like my art and design has become a part of Palm Beach and it’s a real honor. We are doing everything to capture the location.
