One user commented: “It should be illegal. No one is comfortable with it.”
Another said: “Bull Mastiff in Comfort + MakingEveryone Uncomfortable +.” (That poor dog doesn’t even look comfortable.)
“Is this real?! I can’t believe it?! It can’t be possible,” another questioned.
Many users expressed their love for pets, but said it went too far.

“I love dogs and have my own, but this seems disastrous for a pup…If you have a dog this size, pay for an extra seat so everyone is more comfortable.” I wouldn’t even try to do this with my 45 lbs. “Dog,” a user commented.
Another added: “I love my big dogs as much as anyone else, but it’s been happening more and more in recent years and something definitely needs to change.” .

“It’s so confusing. My puppy had to be put in a bag with certain dimensions and under the seat in front of me. How on earth was this allowed?” , one Reddit user questioned after posting a video of a large dog. (Not pictured) Traveling by plane. (St. Petersburg)
One user suggested, “He seems like a sweet kid, so I’d 100 percent take this to Delta and get some compensation (while they still can).”
The Redditor added: “This is insane. Look, dogs are nice. They don’t belong everywhere, especially in cramped, narrow seats on top of metal tubes thousands of meters above the ground.” .
Some users suggested the pet may have been a “service dog.”

When a commenter asked if the passenger had done anything to address the situation, the passenger replied, “What can I do? Of course the owner apologized and acted politely. But hey, a 100-pound dog. !I couldn’t do that because the flight was full. It’s not moving.”

Delta’s website has guidelines for traveling with pets.
“Small dogs, cats and domestic birds can be brought on board for a one-way fee, which will be collected at check-in,” the site states.
It adds, “Pets must fit in a soft-sided, ventilated kennel that goes under the seat in front of you.”
The doghouse size will vary depending on the size of the airplane, although we recommend maximum dimensions of 18 inches x 11 inches x 11 inches to fit most types of aircraft.
