The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will need to do more to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes and win their first national championship since 1988.
Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard is determined to do just that.

Leonard led the Fighting Irish with an 18-play, 75-yard drive that took 9 minutes, 45 seconds into the game. The game ended with Leonard’s touchdown rush from 1 yard left.
After Leonard scored, he pointed to his armband that read “Matthew 23:12,” a Bible verse that says, “He who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” is written.
Leonard has previously said that Matthew 23:12 is one of his favorite verses in the Bible.

“I feel like so many people want to put me on this pedestal and just like my faith really gets me back on that pedestal every time,” he told Sports earlier in the season. -Told through the spectrum. “So through the ups and downs, I can offer you a perspective.
“I’ve seen what it’s like to be admired and to be at the very top. People have put me on draft boards…and I’ve been injured and been at the bottom of rock bottom. But my faith has always brought me back to that humble position, whether you’re at your best or your worst. It doesn’t matter. To treat you the same. ”
Notre Dame went 2-for-2 on fourth down on the drive.
