When it came to the Crew’s pick for the matchup between the two teams, Saban chose Miami over Cal, without further teasing Lynch about the infamous moment in his career with the Seattle Seahawks.
“We may disagree about our selection,” Saban said, “but I’ll tell you this on No. 4 and No. 1 (yard line) in the Super Bowl, I’m going to give you the ball. Yo. It’s here.”

During the 2015 Super Bowl, with the game on the line, Russell Wilson famously chose to throw the ball to the 1-yard line on fourth down instead of handing it off to Lynch. The pass was intercepted by Malcolm Butler, giving the New England Patriots their fourth Super Bowl victory.
Lynch, like the rest of the staff, managed to laugh off the comment.

“College GameDay” was held for the first time in Berkeley on Saturday, marking the University of California’s first ACC home game in its new conference.
Despite what Saturday night’s win means for the conference, the Bears are also looking for their first win against a ranked team since defeating No. 21 Oregon in 2020.
