Less than two weeks later in the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the top prospects of the year dropped a hint as to which teams they wanted to land.
Former Pennsylvania Pass Rush Abdul Carter is widely predicted to be one of the first players on April 25th, with the New York Giants having a third overall pick.
Carter added to speculation that he hopes to wear a blue uniform for his rookie season by sharing an image of Giants great Lawrence Taylor on social media.

A photo of Carter’s X Account Hall of Fame linebackers on Friday was accompanied by the quote, “Once a Giant, Always a Giant.” The late Giants owner Wellington Mara is believed to be a coined word for this phrase.
This week’s visit is not the first time Carter has spoken with the Giants. According to multiple reports, Star Edge Rush also had breakfast with Giants head coach Brianda Ball earlier this month.

Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He played for the Giants throughout his 13-year career and is widely considered to be one of the best players to wear Giants uniforms.

Taylor’s 132½ sack ranks second on the Giants’ best ever list. The 9½ bags he had during his rookie season in 1981 were not included in the total as it was not considered official statistics at the time.
Carter won 23 sacks during his three seasons with the Nittany Lions, earning the Big Ten defensive player of the year honor after a strong campaign in 2024.

Carter fought through a shoulder injury during the college football playoffs. It was also recently revealed that he is dealing with a stress response in his foot. However, it is unlikely that Carter will need to undergo surgery to address the issue, ESPN reported.
