Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney after appearing to have verified the claims of anti-Israeli protesters that there is a “genocide” in Gaza.
“Canada has always been on the side of civilization, too, Mr. Carney. But instead of supporting democracy, which is fighting a fair war with Hamas bars, he attacks the only Jewish nation.

Elite universities sued and accused of not taking action against anti-Semitic harassment
Kearney was attending a rally in Calgary, Alberta. When someone in the crowd cried out, “Mr. Carney, there’s genocide happening in Palestine!”
In response, Kearney thanked the protesters and said, “We have an arms embargo because I know.” The crowd began to chant his name.
The response sparked a stir between Israel and Canadian Jewish organizations such as the Centre for Jewish Affairs (CIJA), and challenged Carney’s comments. Cija also criticised Canada’s weapons restrictions against Israel, calling them “dangerous.”
“It’s outrageous to see politicians fuel anti-Semitism through false narratives of demonization,” Cija tweeted. “There is no genocide in Gaza, and it’s wrong to argue that it’s not.”

Mayor Hampstead Jeremy Levy, a member of the Canadian Conservative Party, also denounced Carney’s comments and called them “disgraced betrayal of moral clarity.”
“By siding alongside Heckler and supporting false and defamatory claims of ‘genocide’ in Israel, he has shown he is not worthy of leadership or respect. ”
When asked to clarify his comments, Carney insisted that he had not heard the protesters say the word “genocide.”
“It’s loud. If you’re there, you’ve heard fragments of what people say, you’ve heard Gaza and my point was knowing the situation in Gaza,” he said.
