More than half of the NBA season has passed, and it has been full -fledged that Adam Silver has searched for a way to improve the league.
This week, Silver has made a quarterly dramatic rule change in the NBA game.
The NBA will be a quarter of the 12 minutes. If the NBA adopts a silver proposal, those periods will be reduced by 2 minutes. The 10 -minute quarter takes 8 minutes from the game clock.

Silver stated that this reduction can create more “consistent” presentations for basketball fans watching games on TV.
“I’m a quarter of a quarter of fans,” Silver told the Dan Patrick Show when he was asked about more dramatic ideas in consideration of the NBA.
“I don’t know if many other people are … records and the meaning of such a thing aside. I think the two -hour form of the game is consistent with modern TV habits. The people of the arena are not the same, but the Olympic Basketball is 2 hours.
At one point, Silver quoted the length of the game played in other leagues around the world.
“NBA is the only (basketball) league that plays 48 minutes. It is a dramatic change in the game.

During the summer Olympics, basketball games lasted for 40 minutes. US basketball games are divided into half of 20 minutes.
“Because this game is very global, one of our time we want to see is to create a consistent series of rules around the game,” Silver said.

Silver can reduce the wear of players in the 82 -game season by shaving a quarter of two minutes, and at the same time helping the league to fight the “load management” problem. I pointed out.
“By the way, if you go to a 40 -minute game, if you have a problem with load management and rest, it will be the same as 15 games from the season,” Silver said.
Silver revealed that he had just discussed the ideas he mentioned during the exchange with Patrick, but they are not adopted.
“It’s not that level,” he said.

Silver also praised the major league baseball by adding a pitch clock. He claimed that this change would be useful for “speeding up the game” and at the same time maintaining the conventional aspect of the game.

“I’m a baseball fan, and some of those changes have really increased something like engagement … it’s a game entertainment value.
“And I actually used a pitch clock … I would like to say at a meeting in the NBA … we should not be afraid to see the change.”
