The 149th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show put around 2,500 dogs of all sizes in the test, with Monty giant Schnauzer on top Tuesday night to win the famous show title at Madison Square Garden in New York City I did.
Four finalists were selected on Monday. Bicheon Frise, known as Neil, repeated runner-up with Whipet, repeating track recner up known as Bourbon, Seatwo, known as Comet, who became a finalist, and German shepherd named Mercedes, who came in second last year.
The judges selected three more finalists on Tuesday evening. The English-language Springer Spaniel, Monty, won the group for the third year in a row, and Archer the Skye Terrier was not surprised.
Who won the Westminster Dog Show?
Monty The Giant Schnauzer beat six other finalists to earn his best victory on the show.
Bourbon the Whippet was runner-up again, marking his third time being selected as a reserve best on the show at the Westminster Dog Show. Bourbon was taken from retirement to compete at this year’s show.
Each dog was judged according to how closely it was in line with the ideal for the breed. Winners will acquire trophies, ribbons and bragging rights, but no prizes.

Westminster Dog Show Categories
The dogs competed in groups before the winners of each group advanced to the best competition in the show. The seven group categories have four arrangements: Hound, Toy, Non-sport, Harding, Sports, Working and Terrier.
Westminster also featured its agility and submission championships held on Saturday. The Agility Award was sent to a border collie named Vanish, and the Australian shepherd was called Willie and won in obedience.

All the dogs in Westminster are titled Champions, but they are also home pets. Others do treatment work, search and rescue, or other dog jobs.
“A good German shepherd is an all-purpose dog,” said Shelley Moses Combs, co-conspirator and co-owner of Wardensville, West Virginia. Some of her puppies have become service dogs for injured veterans, she said.
