Mississippi’s treasurer is facing charges after allegedly putting the human body in a storage unit.
Albert Crease, 31, the former owner of the now-decommissioned Crease Memorial Services, reportedly used the Greenville, Mississippi reserve facility to continue to provide burials and funerals, according to WLBT. Lawmakers discovered the bodies of three individuals inside the storage unit on March 25th at the facility.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Director Billy Barber said Crease was charged with inappropriate offencesec of the body.
After losing business and licenses, Crease began using storage units as a way to continue providing burial and funeral services.

Some of the videos on the Tiktok account are labelled “sensitive” and feature videos containing the bodies of the deceased cassed.
Online records from the Mississippi State Secretary’s Office show that Crease’s limited company was administratively dissolved on December 1, 2024 after it failed to re-register.
Crease was given $600,000 in bonds by a local judge.

Greenville Mayor Eric D. Simmons told Delta News that the body may have been found during an attempted robbery in a particular storage unit.
“We were reporting some robberies, so deputies were actually going to that particular storage, so the robbery could actually run it,” Simmons said. “But we don’t know.”

Simmons also said that an investigation into Crease’s conduct is ongoing and that he expects more charges to be filed.
“The discovery of human remains in our city’s storage units is very intrusive and raises serious concerns calling for a thorough investigation. My thoughts and prayers lie in families that may be affected by this tragic situation,” Simmons said.
“Greenville is a community that values dignity, respect and the rule of law, and we do not tolerate behaviour that violates these principles.
