The New York Mets took the Grimms craze a step further on Monday, announcing that they will have Citi Field seats dedicated to the McDonald’s character.
Grimas was back on the field on Monday and New York picked up another narrow victory, this time with Starling Marte hitting the game-winning hit to beat the Washington Nationals, 2-1.

There were plenty of wins during Grimas’ time in the stadium. New York had won seven straight games since Grimas threw out the first pitch in June. The Mets were 53-31 since June 12 and were battling the Atlanta Braves for the final playoff spot before beating the Nationals.
The Grimace seat is in right field, second deck, row 6, seat number 12. These seats are available for purchase for the Mets’ final home game of the regular season.
“It’s been amazing to see our fans create the Grimmus phenomenon since his debut in June and in the months since,” Mets senior vice president of partnerships Brenden Mallett said in a news release.
Mike Trout says he’s “considering all options” regarding corner outfield or DH role

“As we look for ways to further capture the magic of this moment and celebrate our new celebrity fans, we felt creating a commemorative seating area in advance of our Fan Appreciation Weekend was the perfect way to give something back to our fans in a fun and unique way.”
Andy Goldberg, the Mets’ executive vice president and chief marketing officer, doesn’t think the seats are on the same level as Ted Williams’ seats at Fenway Park, where he hit a 502-foot home run in June 1946. The team is just having fun.
“It’s just been a fun year, and at the same time, we’ve been playing great. We’ve been dominant since the end of May,” he said. “So I think that adds to the mystique.”
