Matthew Stafford will remain in the Los Angeles Rams uniform. The two-time Pro Bowler and the Rams reached an agreement on a restructured deal earlier this week.
Stafford inked an extension of his contract with the Rams in 2022 shortly after leading the franchise to the Super Bowl LVI title. Star quarterback had two seasons left on that contract, but he guaranteed he had no money after the 2025 season.
The adjusted deal comes shortly after the Rams gave Stafford’s agents a green light and gave them a green light to discuss with other teams as the quarterback explored the market. Stafford’s wife, Kelly, took her to social media on Saturday to respond to news that her husband was staying in Los Angeles.

Earlier this month, Kelly tackled speculation surrounding her husband’s future in Los Angeles.
“I love the city of LA…and I love the life we built here,” Kelly said on an episode of “The Morning After” podcast. “That being said, I love adventures. I’m everything for it. Now, if the Rams decide to trade him, or if Matthew doesn’t want to play for the Rams, I’m good.
Matthew and Kelly have been married since 2015 and share four daughters.

The New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders are believed to have discussed potential trading parameters before redoing their deal with the Rams, ESPN reported.
Rams coach Sean McVay recently proposed that retaining Stafford is a team’s number one priority. However, McVay also pointed out that the franchise should weigh the meaning of the roster where a adjusted deal could present this upcoming season and beyond.

“There’s no controversy, and let’s not let that twist on anyone who wants to be our quarterback,” McVay said when he appeared on the Fitz & Whit podcast. “Now there’s a layer to it. ‘Hey, how do we build on a continuous basis? How do we support him? How do we make sure he gets his value compared to those things?”
