New research reveals that American cities are considered “the best city for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations,” and the top spot may or may not surprise you.
Wallethub released a 2025 report after conducting research in 200 major cities. Ranked cities were based on important indicators such as per capita Irish pubs and restaurants, hotel prices, and weather forecasts.
Wallethub analyst Chip Lupo said St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated by millions of Americans, regardless of their ancestors.

“The perfect city for St. Patrick’s Day combines rich traditions with delicious, affordable food, safe conditions to celebrate, and good weather,” he said.

“Celebrating in one of these cities will increase your chances of having a memorable holiday unless you go too far,” Rupo added.

It’s Boston to steal money as the best city to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2025.
According to Wallethub, the city is known for its oldest parade tradition, dating back to 1724.
The city has its sixth Irish pub and sixth Irish restaurants per person, making it a popular spot for its affordable prices.

Reno, Nevada

According to Wallethub, Reno, Nevada, was second in the list, known for being “some of the lowest beer prices in the country.”
The Downtown area will be celebrated with the “Linoleprechaun Crawl” with the holiday Goars taking part in the themed events and drinks. For families, the city has its annual Leprechaun Race 5K.

Savannah, Georgia

The top three were Savannah, Georgia.
“The city sees about half a million visitors during the holidays coming to experience traditions like parades and Celtic Cross Ceremonies,” Wallethub said.
Savannah lit the spotlight on the large number of bars per person.

Fourth was Santa Rosa, California and Worcester, Massachusetts, the fifth best city to celebrate Irish holidays.
The report also said Naperville, Illinois, had the highest population in Ireland and lowest crime rates.
