Americans in every state and the District of Columbia still have time to register to vote in the 2024 election this November. However, those who have not yet registered should do so now. In some states, deadlines can be as early as early October.
In most states, people who want to vote have multiple options, making it easier and more convenient to register or renew your registration than ever before.
“The good news is that it’s easier than ever to register across the country,” CBS News election law contributor David Becker told “CBS Mornings” in September.

Voter registration options for each state
In addition to the traditional method of in-person registration, many states are now offering online registration, same-day voter registration, and automatic voter registration. About half of states offer automatic voter registration.
