Officials say food distributors are recalling a particular batch of granola bars due to potential contamination involving metal objects.
The recall launched by Riverside Natural Foods Inc. relates to MadeGood Granola Bars. It first launched on December 9th, and according to Today.com, the recall will affect over 2 million granola bars.
The bars are “recalled because there may be metal fragments in the product, which could pose a safety hazard if consumed,” the company’s statement said. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raised the risk level for recalls to its second highest risk classification, Class II, on February 11th.
Class II recalls include products that are “are likely to cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects, or are far away with the probability of serious adverse effects.”
