Virginia Museum of History and Culture (VMHC) in Richmond, Virginia will open a new exhibition.
“Give Me Liberty” commemorates America’s 250th birthday, celebrated on July 4th, 2026.
The rare artifact, dating back to the founding of the country, is displayed on the theme of Patrick Henry’s famous speech, “Give me freedom or give me death.”

The founder was an orator who gave a famous speech while suggesting that the colony would raise an army to fight the British.

VMHC president and CEO Jamie Bosket told Fox News Digital that the museum is studying and sharing the stories of America and Virginia.
“It’s victory and tragedy, its success and shortcomings – it reflects the many voices that build one Federation and one nation,” Bosket said.

A letter written by George Washington will also be featured.
Bosket added that “giving me freedom” explores the decade leading up to the Declaration of Independence.
“It also looks at whether the powerful ideas born in that era continued to drive America’s move towards a more complete coalition,” he said.

“Nearly a third of American history museums were founded around Bicentennial in 1976. The 250th anniversary is an opportunity for even greater intellectual and cultural expansion.”

Propaganda of the day will also be featured, including pamphlets and copies of speeches that are the catalysts of revolution.

In a press release, VMHC noted that all everyday objects, such as teapots and silver spoons, are decorated with “I Love Liberty.”
The exhibition will be held from March 22nd to January 4th, 2026.
