FOX Business host Larry Kudlow talks about the debate over the Speakership of the House on “Kudlow.”
Let’s quickly re-elect Chairman Mike Johnson to move Trump’s blue-collar boom agenda at breakneck speed. That’s the subject of the riff.
On Monday of this week, President Donald Trump expressed his enthusiastic support for Speaker Mike Johnson’s re-election.
“The American people need immediate relief from all the destructive policies of the previous administration,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard-working, and godly man. He does the right thing. will, and we will.” Mike has my complete and total support!!!”
On New Year’s Eve, Trump appeared at a gala at Mar-a-Lago and reiterated his support for House Speaker Johnson. Let’s listen:
IRS establishes new tax brackets, increases standard deduction for 2025
FOX News contributor Newt Gingrich weighed in on “Kudlow” during the House Speaker’s debate ahead of President-elect Trump’s inauguration.
Donald Trump: “Oh, I think they’re going to support Speaker Johnson. I think he’s going to have a great time in Washington and I think he’s going to have a lot of support. He’s the one who can win right now. People like him. Most people like him.”
Adding former Speaker Newt Gingrich to his list of Johnson supporters, he said in an interview that Republicans shouldn’t waste time in ugly chamber battles and that Republicans need to support the incumbent speaker. Next 2 years. ”
Many prominent Republicans have endorsed Mike Johnson as a speaker, and I’m happy to add my name to that list. He is a supply-side advocate who supports growth when it comes to tax cuts. He’s a tough hawk when it comes to closing the border, stopping Biden’s illegal immigration and stamping out terrorism here at home. He is a man of law and order. He is a supporter of “Drill, Baby, Drill” and believes in President Trump’s America First “peace through strength” foreign policy.
In other words, Speaker Johnson is a common-sense conservative who is incredibly accessible to the media. Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will convene to begin the 119th Congress, and its first task will be to select a Speaker.
I want to remind everyone that on Monday, January 6th, the House must vote to certify the presidential election, but without the Speaker, the House cannot certify. If the House and Senate fail to approve it, President-elect Trump may not be able to take office on January 20th. Think about it. So this is not a waste of time. The Republican House and Senate should get serious.
Senior advisers close to Trump say the president wants a “big, beautiful bill” on the table from both houses of Congress as soon as possible. The bill includes tax cuts, border closures, fossil fuel reform and permitting, and “peace through strength” defense enhancements.
During the campaign, Mr. Trump’s working-class coalition repeatedly promised better wallets, higher take-home pay, tax cuts, cheaper energy and closed borders. Promises made and promises kept. One big, beautiful settlement will be created to unite all fiscal policy issues. All it takes is a 51-vote majority in the Republican Senate.

Start the blue collar boom now. The House has already passed HR1. About energy and HR2. Regarding immigration inspection. Rep. Jason Smith’s House Ways and Means Committee has been working on a Trump-style tax cut for much of last year.
Sen. Mike Crapo is poised to deliver major tax cuts from the Senate Finance Committee. The entire bill could become law by the middle of this year and would help President Trump fulfill his sweeping mandate for change.
