In an interview with Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Anthony Davis reiterated what he had I don’t think he’ll be traded When the Los Angeles Lakers sent him to the Dallas Mavericks.
“I honestly didn’t know shit when it happened,” Davis told The Times.
Davis said the first thing he did was call LeBron James on Facetime because “he was my running mate for six years.” He added, “Obviously, when they talk to me, I know there’s a lot of political stuff in the front office.”
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Ramona Shelburne, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison insisted Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka that trade talks must be kept quiet. This meant that members of the Lakers organization, as well as agents of the players involved, were in the dark until the transaction was completed.

But Davis doesn’t know how he believes in how the blockbuster deals fell. He said this is why James was his first call.
“The front office has to do what it has to do, and obviously they’re going to do what’s best for the organization,” Davis told The Times. “So I don’t know if I’ve ever got a ‘real’ thing about it. I don’t know what’s true, what’s not, or what’s coming from the second floor. So, I went to the guy I was running and saw what was going on and got his response.
“I say no one knew. All the other shit. I don’t believe it. But hey guy, I’m past it. I’m ready to move forward with Dallas. I’m going to try and get the championship with them first. I’m going to go back to the floor and get ready to compete.

“If I had played, it would have been a little more emotional for me,” Davis told The Times. “Obviously, it was emotional while I was here. But the video was fire! The love from the crowd was fire! The applause was fire!”
Davis added that he “may have to look again” as he was focused on the game.
“I didn’t get the opportunity I really like, I really analyze the video and feel what I want to feel,” he said. “But that was the first time I’d had it and I think the Lakers actually did really dope.
In Davis’s five or more seasons with the Lakers, he averaged 24.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steels and 2.2 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game. He contributed to the 2020 Championship Run and was selected four times as an All-Star during his tenure, including this season. Davis didn’t say exactly that he understood Los Angeles’ decision to trade him for Luca Donsic, but it appears he’s accepted.
“They wanted the person they wanted,” Davis said. “They did what they had to do. I don’t know if they had to do, but that’s what they want to do. I moved. Do I know what I’m saying to my wife and kids? And I’m thinking of a way to take them to Dallas.
