The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that regular infantry and armored forces would take part in what it described as a limited and localized ground operation in southern Lebanon.
This comes after Israel announced on Tuesday that commando troops and paratroopers had crossed the border in a ground operation in Lebanon, according to Reuters.
The military said its special forces had been carrying out ground raids against Hezbollah terrorist targets across the border for months, finding tunnels and weapons under homes.

Infantry and armored units of the 36th Division include the Golani Brigade, 188th Armored Brigade, and 6th Infantry Brigade.
The military’s addition of these troops suggests that ground operations in Lebanon have gone beyond limited special forces raids.
