India and Pakistan confirmed on Saturday that they have agreed to a ceasefire agreement after US-led mediation spokespersons to end the conflict between nuclear-armed rivals.
President Trump announced that after US-mediated consultations, the two countries said they came after “a long night talk” on Saturday morning in a true social post, before reaching a “full and immediate ceasefire.”
“We congratulate both countries on using common sense and great intelligence,” Trump wrote. “Thank you for being careful about this issue!”

“Directions are given to both sides to influence this understanding,” he said, adding that the best military officials will speak again on May 12th.
The ceasefire contract also came hours after India and Pakistan struck using drones and missiles fired from fighter jets, in a major escalation of the military Conflict between two nuclear neighbors. Both countries accused them of first firing, claiming they acted in retaliation. Each of their troops did not specify whether the fighters had crossed over to other territory, but they confirmed that the aircraft were being used in overnight attacks.
During an early morning briefing on Saturday, Pakistani officials said India launched missiles at three air force bases across the country, but most were intercepted, with a “retaliatory strike” in India ongoing. The Pakistani military said it used medium-range Fate missiles to target Indian missile storage facilities and air bases in Patankot and Udhanpur.
Hours later, India accused Pakistan of attacking “the site of Medicare centre and schools at air bases in Srinagar, Awantipola and Udhanpur for targeting civilian regions and military infrastructure, targeting “UCAVs”, drones, long-range weapons, Reutering apartments and fighter jets.”

Pakistani Army spokesman General Ahmad Sharif said in a television statement that Pakistan’s air force assets are safe following the Indian strike, adding that some of the Indian missiles have also been attacked by the provinces of eastern Punjab, India.
“This is a provocation of the highest order,” Sharif said.
The Indian missiles targeted Nur Khan Air Force Base in Rison City, Rawalpindi, Murid Air Force Base in Chakwar city, and Rafiki Air Force Base in Jang district, Eastern Punjab.
India said its troops have attacked Pakistan’s technological infrastructure, command and control centres, radar sites, and weapons storage areas of Rafiki, Marido, Chakrara, Rahimyakhan, Sukuru and Tunian.
India also claimed it targeted Pakistani radar sites in Pasrur and Sialkot Aviation Base using Precision Munitions.

“The Indian Army will reiterate its commitment to unexhaust if it is being reciprocated by the Pakistani army,” Indian Air Force Commander Vyomika Singh said at a press conference on Saturday morning.
India also denied Pakistan’s claim that it had destroyed India’s S-400 air defense system and air force stations in Sirsa and Surat.
