The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has arrested several migrants in the past few weeks who have been seeking violent crimes, such as sexual assault on children.
In Laredo, Texas, DPS arrested a Hongjuran citizen for sexual assault in Harris County during a traffic stop that took place as part of Operation Lone Star.
The stop occurred just after 7am on February 12th. This is when a DPS trooper pulled an international tractor trailer in 2011 for a traffic violation.
When the truck stopped, the driver and several passengers took off towards the brush, DPS said.

House Republicans update push to refund Texas for “Operation Loan Star” border security push

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has vowed to appeal a federal ruling blocking state law that allows authorities to arrest illegal immigrants and grant state judges the power to order deportation. (Getty Images)
Since its establishment, the operation has arrested over 500,000 illegal immigrants, halted more than 140,000 illegal attempts to enter the United States, made more than 50,000 criminal arrests, and killed more than 5 billion. A lethal dose of the fatality was seized. With more than 240 miles of border barriers, it established the only National Guard base along the Texas-Mexico border.
“In short, Texas has stepped up where the federal government rejected and in doing so protects all Americans from President Biden’s dangerous policies,” Abbott wrote to members of the US Congress later last month. I wrote.
He is proud of the operation, but Abbott said its success comes with a high price tag of over $11.1 billion.
In a cost breakdown document, Abbott said before the Biden administration, Texas spent about $800 million every two years to compensate for federal efforts at the border.
“The burden our state is carrying is a direct result of our refusal to do our job,” Abbott wrote. “The work Texas has done through Operation Lone Star is protected and will continue to benefit the entire country.”
