Hamas released all six hostages in his latest exchange on Saturday.
Six people include three Israelis seized from the Nova Music Festival, who visited families in southern Israel when extremists attacked the border on October 7, 2023. This includes attacks that led to a nearly 16-month campaign in the Gaza Strip when another man was accused of being accused of being accused of being accused of being accused of nearly 16 months.
The two hostages were detained by Hamas for about ten years as they each entered Gaza themselves.
The five prisoners were handed over in a gradual ritual that the Red Cross and Israel condemned in the past. This was brought about by armed Hamas fighters hidden in front of hundreds of Palestinians before being moved to Red Cross vehicles.
In the central town of Nusairat, Omer Wenkert, Omer Shem Tov and Eliya Cohen were posing alongside Hamas fighters on stage. The sparkling Shem Tov kissed the two militants next to him on his head and kissed the crowd. Hamas has received intense criticism for such public exhibits, with Israel, the United Nations and the Red Cross saying they are cruel and do not respect the dignity of hostages.
Seeing the release, Cohen’s family and friends of Israel recited, “Elijah! Elijah! Elijah!” They cheered when they first saw him. Shem Tov’s grandmother was haunted by joy and cried out, “Omer, My Joy! My Life!” Just as she saw him.
Israeli forces say the last hostage was released by Hamas on Saturday. He was not immediately identified, but is expected to be Hisham al-Seid, 36, of Bedouin Israel, who traveled to Gaza himself in 2015 and has been detained ever since. His family said Israeli media had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
The latest release, which continues to release hundreds of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, first came after tensions erupted in a horrifyingly heartbreaking conflict this week when Hamas first handed him the wrong body. I’ve made it. Two young boys are lured by extremists.
The remains that Hamas transferred along with his son’s body on Thursday were later determined to be the remains of an unidentified Palestinian woman. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to revenge for “cruel and malicious violations,” but Hamas suggested that it was a mistake.
On Friday night, a small extremist group believed they were holding Viva and her son, the Palestinian Mujahedine Brigade. Vivas’ family said Israeli forensic authorities confirmed that the body was her.
“For 16 months, we sought certainty. Now we want to mark the beginning of closure, but no longer brings us comfort,” the family said.
Probably difficult negotiations at the next stage
The ceasefire agreement has suspended the war, but is approaching the end of the first phase. Negotiations in the second phase, where Hamas will release dozens of hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire and Israel’s withdrawal, are likely to be even more difficult.
The six hostages released on Saturday are the last living ones released in the first phase.
Cohen, Shem Tob and Wenkart, in their 20s, were accused of Hamas fighters at the Nova Music Festival. During their release, they were not soldiers when they were kidnapped, but they brought them in fake military uniforms.
Earlier on Saturday, two other hostages — Tar Shoham, 40, and 38-year-old Abela Mengäthu, were released in Rafa city in southern Gaza. Back in Israel, both were taken to medical centres for testing.
“This is an unforgettable moment, and all the emotions are rapidly mixing together. Our tal is with us,” Shoham’s family said in a statement, and all those still captured I am seeking a contract to release the “There’s a window of opportunity. Don’t miss it.”

Shoham, who holds Austrian citizenship, was visiting Kibbutz Beeri’s family when Hamas militants were attacked by the community during the attack on October 7, 2023. Shoham’s wife, two young children, and three other relatives who were accused of him were released in an exchange in November 2023.
Mengistu from Ethiopia and Israel has been in Gaza since joining on its own in 2014. Seeing the extradition in Israeli media, Mengistu’s family and friends erupted into Hebrew songs. It’s the first time in over 10 years. “Do you remember me?” one of his brothers asks as they hug them to the hospital.
Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners are ready to be released
Later on Saturday, Israel is scheduled to release 620 imprisoned Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Media Office, they include 151 people who served lives and other sentences, of which around 100 will be deported to other countries. Also, 445 women seized by Israeli military in Gaza, 18 children between the ages of 15 and 17, five children between the ages of 18 and 19, according to the media office. Included.
Hamas also said he will release four more bodies next week, completing the first phase of the ceasefire. If that plan was implemented, Hamas would hold about 60 hostages, about half of which are believed to be alive.
Hamas said he would not release the remaining prisoners without a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of Israel. Netanyahu says he is committed to destroying Hamas’ troops, governing its capabilities and returning all hostages, with full support from the Trump administration.
Israeli military attacks have killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s health ministry that does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. Israel says it killed more than 17,000 fighter jets without providing evidence.
The attack destroyed vast areas of Gaza and reduced the entire neighborhood to tile rubs. At that height, the war drove out 90% of Gaza’s population. Many people returned home, nothing remained and found no way to rebuild.
