Google says that while summary cards aren’t new to Gmail, they’ve been redesigned and now have their own inbox tab called “Coming Soon.”
When you purchase a ticket to a concert, you’ll see an action button on the event summary card to add it directly to your calendar or invite others to the event, Google added.
This redesign allows users to set reminders for bill payments, letting you know when they’ll be delivered without digging deep into your inbox and following links.
Google says the updated summary card applies to four types of frequently used emails: They include:
Purchase: View order details and track your package’s arrival date. Events: Get an overview of dinner reservation details and concert tickets, add events to your calendar, and invite friends. Bills: View bill due dates and set payment reminders. Travel: Manage your reservations, check in for flights, access travel details like hotel check-out times, and more, all in one place.
An updated overview card has been published. In the near future, Google plans to roll out a “coming soon” section at the top of your inbox, allowing users to see the latest information without opening the email.
