Carson Beck’s college career is officially over.
The Georgia quarterback announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft on social media on Saturday, just five days after Beck underwent season-ending elbow surgery.

“The past five years at the University of Georgia have been a dream come true, and I will cherish these memories forever,” Beck said in an Instagram post.

“I would like to thank Dawg Nation and the people who supported and believed in me while I was here. This has been an incredible journey and all of these moments have ultimately led me to the world of football. This has led me to the next step in my career.” That’s why I’m declaring my intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft! ”
Beck was injured in the first half of the Bulldogs’ overtime win over Texas in the SEC Championship Game earlier this month.
He underwent surgery on Monday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm and is expected to start pitching in the spring.

Despite having one more year of eligibility, Beck declared for the draft after back-to-back seasons as Georgia’s starter with a 24-3 record.
“I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love. Through the ups and downs, the good times and the bad, I am forever grateful for everything this game has created and given me. “It taught me lessons that will last a lifetime and helped me grow into the person I am today,” his statement said.
“I am very grateful to my family and close people who have provided support to me during this journey. I can’t thank you enough.”

Gunner Stockton took over in Beck’s absence, hoping to lead Georgia to another national championship. The Bulldogs will play Notre Dame in the CFP quarterfinals of the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday.
