Frito-Lay is recalling a limited quantity of 13 oz. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said some consumers could experience “life-threatening allergic reactions” from undeclared allergens.
The FDA said it was alerted by a consumer that the product may contain undeclared milk. Bags of potato chips affected by the recall will be distributed to select retail stores and e-commerce sellers in Oregon and Washington and will be available for sale starting November 3, 2024.
“People with allergies or severe sensitivities to cow’s milk may be at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the recalled products,” the FDA said in a recall notice posted Thursday. Ta.
No allergic reactions related to the recall have been reported, according to the notice. Additionally, other Lay’s products, flavors, sizes, and variety packs are not affected.

The recalled chips include flexible 13-ounce Lay’s Classic Potato Chips; (368.5 grams) bags with UPC code 28400 31041, “Freshness Guaranteed” date February 11, 2025, and one of two manufacturing codes (6462307xx or 6463307xx).
FDA’s general guidelines advise consumers who purchased recalled food to either throw away the product or return it to the retailer for a full refund.
